My formal dance training began when I undertook a BA Hons degree in Dance and Culture at the University of Surrey in 2001, graduating with a 2:1 in 2005. During my training placement year for her degree, I was lucky enough to gain invaluable teaching experience at two of Londons top dance institutions; Trinity Laban and English National Ballet. It was during this time that my love for teaching others was confirmed and which led to me completing a PGCE in Dance Teaching, with Distinction, from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2006.
During the next six years I ran the Dance department at one of the top sixth form colleges in the country where I built relationships with professional companies including Matthew Bourne's New Adventures and Rambert Dance Company. Many of my students went on to successfully gain places at prestigiuos Dance and Performing Arts Shcools including, The Arts Educational School in London, The Place and London Studio Centre. Many of these students are now working professionally within the Arts.
After a very happy and fulfilling time teaching at this college, I moved to St Albans and decided to persue a slightly different teaching route.
Pilates and Dance
After being an avid Pilates 'goer' for many years, I was very keen to learn more and undertook the Body Control Pilates Matwork Course.
I was keen to bring Dance and Pilates to the community and to teach to anybody who felt the need or want to try something new or to continue with their interest in these areas. I began teaching adult Ballet classes which were really popular and Pilates in my local area as well as Crouoch End in North London.
She now teaches in her local city of St Albans but also in London and Hemel Hempstead. Sasha is always looking to broaden her teaching and welcomes ideas from anyone who wishes for new classes in their local area.
So if you have any further comments or would like to get in touch with Sasha direclty please feel free to do so!
