ABOUT ME

My formal dance training began when I undertook a BA Hons degree in Dance and Culture at the University of Surrey in 2001, graduating with a 2:1 in 2005. During my degree I undertook a training placement year working at Trinity Laban and English National Ballet. It was during this time that my love for teaching others was confirmed and which led to me complete my PGCE in Dance Teaching, with Distinction, from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2006.

I went on to run the Dance department at an established Sixth Form College where I built relationships with professional companies including Matthew Bourne's New Adventures and Rambert Dance Company. Many of my students went on to successfully gain places at prestigious Dance and Performing Arts Schools and many of these students are now working professionally within the Arts industry.

After a very happy and fulfilling time teaching at this college, I moved to St Albans and decided to pursue a slightly different teaching route to accommodate my growing family life.

After being an avid Pilates 'goer' for many years, I was very keen to learn more and undertook the Body Control Pilates Matwork Course in 2012.

After qualifying at BCP I was soon teaching Pilates and Dance in my local community. Towards the end of my first year of setting up solo I fell pregnant with my first child and since his birth in 2013 I have had two more children, so life has been quite busy!

I have naturally taken a keen interest in teaching pregnancy and post natal Pilates, undertaking the relevant qualifications after my first child. I have grown a wonderful community of mummies and will often see my clients, past and present in the local high street on a weekly basis!
